Whether you come to taste the charms of hiking or the delights of rest and contemplation, everything is done to make your stay pleasant. We welcome you in a warmly decorated room or in our magnificent shaded park planted with larch and maple trees.

Le béal room

Magnificent dining room with fireplace and large bay windows giving off an early 20th century atmosphere, old-world charm in a setting that Agatha Christie would not have denied to create a wonderful novel.

Our homemade cuisine combines mountain specialties such as Tartiflette, Pork jailles with honey, Leg of lamb from the Durance region with salted apples, Poultry ballotin with reblochon and a more gourmet but traditional cuisine such as Pike terrine with butter. spices, Duck stew with prunes, Braised ham with Madeira, Veal breast stuffed with morels …

At the Chalet hôtel d´Ailefroide we work, as much as possible, with products labeled organic or from local and sustainable agriculture. Fresh regional products to mix tastes and scents. On request we can serve you raclette or fondue!

Only reserved for residents of our hotel to guarantee peace and serenity. Of course you have the possibility every day to adapt the menu to your desires.

The refuge room

Our restaurant, Le Refuge, offers you a taste of traditional, local cuisine. We want it to be generous, adapted to a clientele of hikers and mountain dwellers, scented with the flavors of Provence and the Alps.

Apart from our mountain specialties such as porcini or morel fondues, our traditional raclette with goat’s milk or our hot box from Hautes-Alpes… You also have the possibility of tasting Durance lamb or our trout cooked in depending on the Chef’s mood.

The dishes offered are all prepared with quality products. As much as possible, we work with products labeled organic or from local and sustainable agriculture. The cuisine is homemade using fresh, seasonal produce.

Our restaurant also offers gourmet, mountain or children’s formulas and menus! For a little hunger, you can sit down and discover our snack area generally served at the bar “Le Dôme Café” on the terrace, in the garden or near the fireplace as you wish. During the season the restaurant is open 7 days a week.

We invite you, after tasting our cuisine, to relax by taking a seat in the country-style garden, lulled by the distant music of the torrent pouring downstream into the gorges towards the valley of St Pierre and under the watchful eye of the Grand Pelvoux, and thus take full advantage of this green setting.

In high season, dinner will be served in the Grand Béal room from 7 p.m.

Our restaurant is also a bar and ice cream parlor. After a good walk in the mountains, you feel a little hungry or thirsty! You just need to sit on the terrace or by the fireplace in the evening to order.

We also organize seminars, banquets, weddings and meetings.
